Men In The Kitchen

Men In The Kitchen is a monthly meetup held at our 'home church' St Joseph's Anglican Church in Brampton (see map below for location).  On the last Saturday of every month we gather as a community of friends to share fellowship, conversation and of course...coffee.  To us there is nothing more nostalgically Canadian than gathering in a coffee shop and talking to our friends about life, politics, the weather, our families or our jobs.

There's no agenda with these meetings.  We simply realized that between more and more of our programs being run online as well as it being difficult for people in recovery to find social spaces that are safe and comfortable, it was important to have a regular get together.

As an added bonus, in the summer months we take Men In The Kitchen from being just a typical coffee and snacks event to being a full on fantastic BBQ.  The burgers are juicy, the hotdogs are footlongs, and because our volunteer chefs have connections in the food industry (it pays to have friends who work with food) every barbecue features something special such as homemade sausages, steak, souvlaki, etc.

It's important to remember that no matter how fancy these afternoons get, there is NO cover charge, no donations requested, and no pressure to participate in any of our other programs.  Just good food, good friends and good conversation
